Grodan Group appoints new Managing Director

As of 1 February 2012 Hub Janssen (50) will be the new Managing Director of the Grodan Group. Hub Janssen has worked for several business units within the Rockwool Group, the parent company of Grodan and brings Business Operations as well as Sales management and Marketing expertise to the company. He succeeds Maurice Husson, who will take up the position of Director Rockwool Production in the Netherlands.

During the seminar it became clear how Precision Growing answers to future challenges and how collaboration in this field leads to optimal results for an efficient and sustainable cultivation.

Grodan participates in Technical Trials

Grodan has signed up to participate in Technical Trials. The second edition of the Technical Trials will take place from 1st to the 4th of November 2011 during the HortiWeek. The initiative to give visitors from both home and abroad a complete impression of the technology in the Dutch Horticultural Sector via inspirational company visits was initiated last year. The Technical Trials organisation expects an increase in the number of visitors this year because of the Technical Trials’ growing name.

Grodan substrate supports space mission

If everything goes according to plan, the first manned mission to Mars will take place in 2035. The journey will take the 'martianauts' about two and a half years. Taking along food supplies for the entire journey is impossible; that would amount to around fifteen hundred kilograms per person. The solution lies in growing their own food. What that requires is a light and compact growth medium which yields maximum results with the use of minimal resources. Precisely the characteristics of the stone wool substrate developed by Grodan for the horticultural sector.
