Grodan is affiliated with GlobalGAP (GAP = Good Agricultural Practice), a global organisation that promotes sustainable agriculture. GlobalGAP is an initiative taken by supermarkets in response to consumers’ growing concerns about the safety of agricultural produce. The organisation intends to alleviate these concerns by developing a single standard for the certification of agricultural produce supplied by farmers and horticulturalists who assign high priority to environmentally-friendly entrepreneurship. This standard, which serves as a global reference system for other standards, is suitable for simple and immediate implementation by all parties in the food sector.
Grodan is an Associate Member of GlobalGAP. Associate Members play an important role in the GlobalGAP network, since their broad expertise enables them to make a valuable contribution to the processes in which the interested parties are consulted on the further tightening of the umbrella GlobalGAP standard.
