Grodan’s dependable root zone data is now available in Source.ag software solutions

April 16, 2026

Grodan, a global leader in innovative stone wool substrate solutions for professional horticulture, and Source.ag, an innovative developer of AI-powered software for smarter greenhouse cultivation, are making it even easier for growers to improve their yields, product quality, and profitability. From now on, the highly accurate and reliable rootzone data from Grodan’s GroSens Suite can be seamlessly incorporated into Source’s software solutions, supporting faster, more precise, and more effective data-driven decision-making.

Source has become the latest horticulture-industry partner to integrate Grodan’s GroSens API. The integration agreement, signed in mid-January 2026, facilitates optimal connectivity. It is now possible for Source.ag users to view GroSens Suite root zone data at individual sensor level within the dashboards of Source Workspace, alongside other vital greenhouse parameters. This puts all the key data at their fingertips without having to switch between platforms.

GroSens Suite users also benefit from the application of Source’s AI-powered solutions to Grodan’s root zone data, opening up new opportunities for even more precise crop steering.

Open connectivity gives growers centralised control

“In combination with our industry-leading stone wool growing media, GroSens Suite provides the most reliable rootzone data around, because our sensors are fully optimised for Grodan substrates”, says Gerben van der Lugt, Global Marketing & Solutions Director at Grodan.

“Grodan is committed to open connectivity, and we are delighted to add Source to our network of leading partners. Together, we can make it even easier for our joint customers to leverage the most reliable insights into rootzone conditions for continuously improving yields, plant resilience, fruit quality, efficiency, and sustainability performance,” he adds.

“We feel a close affinity with Grodan because we share the same mission: empowering growers to provide everyone around the globe with sufficient fruits and vegetables, in a climate-resilient and resource-efficient way. Not only can growers now see and compare Grodan data with all their other greenhouse data in their Source.ag weekly overview, daily metrics, and as five-minute data. This integration also enables them to use GroSens sensors to automate their irrigation strategy with Irrigation Control. Source.ag’s autonomous irrigation technology leverages Grodan’s data to execute high-precision steering, and we are proud to officially announce this collaboration,” says Lotte Adema, VP of Product at Source.ag.

Following successful trials with a number of existing customers, this integration is now available to all growers looking to leverage GroSens Suite root zone insights within Source.ag solutions. The API integration can be requested through Grodan and Source.ag account managers.
