Back to propagation
We're looking back at IPS 2024 – two incredible days of connecting and engaging with our customers and other industry leaders. The conversations and shared experiences offered invaluable insights into future developments in propagation.
Together, we truly embodied our motto: Designed to grow together.
Our key learnings:
- LED light spectra influences elongation of hypocotyl of root stocks.
- Rugose resistant root stocks do not influence resistance levels in varieties. Viral resistance of the variety is the key to controlling symptom expression.
- Grafting should always be done in accordance with hygienic protocols and the proper procedures. Cutting and connecting the rootstock with the variety must occur at the proper time based on the crop and using the right methods.
- To ensure even shoots when pinching tomatoes on the second true leaf, it’s best to equal leaf area index at the moment of pinching in order to achieve uniform shoot development.
- The challenges of growing strawberries outdoors are many but future developments are promising.
- Stone wool can be precisely manufactured to deliver a uniform, consistent product in line with customer expectations.
- Factors affecting seed and young plant quality are a combination of genetic potential, environmental factors during seed production, seed upgrading, and environmental factors during propagation.
