The seasons are changing and for some that means the growing season has come to an end. Nevertheless, we at e-Gro work a year round so that we can help you maximize your substrate yield and help you become an expert in data driven precision growing. We do so via launching various releases throughout the year in e-Gro. But it’s not only about launching new features to the market. Our service promise is the basis for the launch of new features. With our green experts and dedicated Customer Success Managers we make sure our e-Gro users understand:

  • how to use the (new) features;
  • interpret the greenhouse data;
  • how to implement these insights in optimized growing strategies.

New Release

 

While the previous release in September focused on the Crop Module, this release will offers major improvements to several aspects including Conditions Page, Dashboard and Crop Module. Resulting in better insights into your greenhouse conditions by bringing your data into one overview, giving you the flexibility to analyze your data anytime, anywhere. We took a look at which features of e-Gro are most utilized and deemed most valuable. Based on feedback from growers like you, we focused on the aspect of e-Gro that you find most important. Let’s dive a bit deeper into each improvement and its benefits.

Improvements Conditions Page

The Conditions Page gives you access to real-time root zone and climate data and visualizes your data in a simple overview with clear KPIs, all in one place. When the root and climate are analyzed together, instead of in different systems, we can quickly spot correlations between both parameters , resulting in more insights for better crop steering. Next to this, the page gives also predictions and notifications on how to improve irrigation strategy and rootzone management. The latest improvements on this page:

  • More flexibility: a significant improvement to the Conditions Page is that your data will be shown on crop level, bringing it into alignment with the rest of the platform. This also means that KPIs on top will also be based on crop level. Still, you can analyse and compare performance of specific irrigation compartments which are linked to a crop. This allows you to more easily identify the factors affecting certain crops and zones. And you will have more flexibility in choosing different options on how to analyze the data on this page. The Grodan Grosens sensor data is now averaged every 3 minutes versus the precious 10 minutes.

  • More climate insights: Another exciting addition is an important new climate data parameter: ‘Radiation Sum’. You will be able to analyse and compare the radiation sum with many other climate and rootzone parameters for specific crops in your account. This new climate parameter will help you to improve decision making in irrigation strategy and around nutrients management.

  • Quicker access to predictions: A great highlight of the release is to have quicker access to popular ‘Projected WC Decrease’ feature. This valuable feature is unique to e-Gro and gives you more insights into whether you need to water your plant more or less before sunset. The WC Decrease will be more prominently visible at the top of the conditions graph so you can easily ‘toggle on and off’.

  • Optimal user experience: The new release includes an easy to oversee time slider, which makes it possible to slide back 30 days on desktop along with clearer and more visible sensor data. You can see and compare far more than what was previously available.

In general, the dashboard will have an improved user interface with enhanced and clearer KPIs. The Dashboard allows you to view all your important information in a single glance view with crop status at the top along with an evaluation of the vegetative and generative actions taken. A new graph has been implemented which shows the valued feature ‘Projected WC Decrease’ (from the Condition Page). Now you can also select various sensors on your dashboard and see how the water content will decrease overnight in the slab.

Exporting crop data

We made it possible to export your crop data (to a CSV file) in your Crop Page, so you can share your crop data with peers or crop consultants in order to better discuss optimization of crop strategy. As you might know it is also possible to give peers permission to access your data, but if you have not done so or don’t want to you can now export and send your data. Next steps

We are nearing the end of the year but we will continue development. There is another release on the horizon at the beginning of the first quarter in 2021 and many more improvements to come. Stay tuned!
